Overview
The Special Projects Commission was created to recommend grant awards to promote tourism and economic development activities. The commission recommends annual grant program funding levels and each grant award to the Common Council. The council has the final approval authority for all grant expenditures. This commission is a fair and equitable way of distributing room tax dollars to organizations to assist in performing activities for the benefit of the city in accordance with the city's ordinances, goals, and objectives in coordination with the Community Development Department.
