Main Parade
Parade begins at 1:00 p.m. on July 4
Due to road construction on Moorland Road and National Avenue parade route and staging will be different in 2023. Parade route will begin at 159th Street and travel west to Rose Court. Staging will take place on National Avenue, west of Moorland to 159th and carry into the subdivision north. Residents affected will receive direct notification. Official parade route will begin at 159th street heading west and end at Observatory Road. Between the hours of noon and 3:30 - 159th Street will NOT be accessible to general traffic.
Road closures will begin at 11 a.m. and run through 4 p.m.
In deference to the condensed space, spectators will refrain from placing personal items or roping off areas along the parade route to noon on July 3rd. ALL ITEMS PLACED ALONG NATIONAL AVENUE PRIOR TO JULY 3rd WILL BE CONSIDERED ABANDONDED PROPERTY AND WILL BE REMOVED. Thank you for cooperation.
Fireworks
July 4 at 10:00 p.m. in Malone Park
Please note: It is against city ordinance to have sparklers, punks, fireworks, and open fires on the festival grounds.
Shuttle Buses/Parking/Ride Share
Generously donated by Durham Bus Services, shuttle buses will run from 4:30 pm through 11:30 pm. Route includes stops at New Berlin Activity & Recreation Center, Ronald Reagan Grade School (outer parking lot) and Festival Grounds. The Festival Grounds pick-up/drop-off point will be located at the crosswalk on the north side of National Avenue, just west of Casper Drive. Signage indicating point will be posted.
