Responsibilities
Code compliance means ensuring that:
- Business and residential properties are in compliance
- City of New Berlin municipal zoning codes and ordinances are being followed
- Construction sites comply with and maintain erosion control measures
- Zoning permits are followed
Complaints
The code compliance specialist investigates zoning code complaints and pursues violations with violation letters, stop work orders, or citations. For a complaint to be investigated, the code compliance specialist needs the following information:
- Address or location of where the suspected violation is occurring
- Complainant’s name, phone number, and/or address
- Description of the problem
