It was brought to my attention that several citizens were raising concerns regarding their homeowners insurance and in particular their ISO fire rating. I contacted the ISO office today and they did verify that nothing has changed regarding the City of New Berlin ISO rating. In areas where there is municipal water the ISO rating is a four (4). In areas where there are no hydrants (no municipal water) but within five miles of a fire station the ISO rating is a seven (7). The only change that has occurred in the past year is the fact that ISO now identifies our station located at 5120 South Racine Avenue which should improve ratings in that area from a ten (10) to a seven (7). Other than this change, no other areas have been changed.
